How Basketpad works
Overview
Basketpad is a layer on Pump.fun. Coins are created by Pump.fun's own program and trade on its bonding curve, then on PumpSwap after graduation. What Basketpad adds is where the coin's creator fees go: they are turned into a basket of assets the creator picked and sent to the coin's holders, one asset per round.
The pair
The coin trades against this token on its curve, and the fees come in as that token. They are turned into SOL before they are paid out. The dev picks it at launch from what Pump.fun accepts: SOL, the tokens Pump.fun lists (USDC and others), or any Pump.fun coin, in which case Pump.fun seeds the new curve from that coin's price. The dev buy is paid in the pair. A coin brought in through Bring a coin keeps the pair it already has.
The basket
At launch the creator picks up to 50 payout assets from the directory of 82 assets, or any Pump.fun coin by its address, and puts them in order. Pick none and every round pays SOL. Round 1 pays in the first asset, round 2 in the second, and after the last one it starts again from the top. The basket is saved with the coin and can't be edited afterwards.
- xStocks: Tokenized US stocks and ETFs by Backed.
- PreStocks: Exposure to private companies before an IPO.
- Backpack: Tokenized stocks issued through Backpack Securities.
- Crypto: SOL, BTC, ETH, USDC and Solana majors.
- Pump.fun: Graduated Pump.fun coins with deep liquidity, or any Pump.fun coin by its address.
Only tokens Jupiter lists as verified make it into the directory, and only with enough liquidity for the engine's swaps. Stock tokens are issued by third parties and track a stock's price; they are not shares held in your name, and their issuers set who may hold them.
The fee split
Pump.fun lets a coin share its creator fees between several wallets. Basketpad uses two:
- the dev wallet, paid directly by Pump.fun, at most 45%;
- the Basketpad engine, which receives the holders' share (at least 50%) and the 5% $BASKET share.
The split is set in the launch transaction (or the join transaction) as the coin's fee redirect on Pump.fun, and shown on the coin page.
Payout rounds
Once an hour the engine goes through every coin:
- reads the coin's fee-sharing config on Pump.fun and checks it still matches. If not, the coin is flagged and nothing is paid for it;
- calls Pump.fun's distribution, which pays the dev and the engine their shares;
- adds the holders' share to the coin's bucket;
- for a coin paired with another token, swaps the fees it received into SOL (on Jupiter, or on the pair's own Pump.fun curve);
- when the bucket holds 0.1 SOL or more, reads every holder, buys the next basket asset (Jupiter, or the Pump.fun curve for a coin still on one) and sends it out. With no basket it sends SOL.
Who is paid
- Wallets that have held for 1 hour or more without selling to zero. Selling everything resets the clock.
- The 100 largest of them, in proportion to their bag.
- Left out: the bonding curve, the PumpSwap pool, the dev wallet and the engine.
Token accounts
A wallet needs a token account to receive an asset it has never held. The engine opens it, and its rent (about 0.002 SOL) comes out of that wallet's own share, so other holders don't pay for it. A share that can't cover its rent plus 0.001 SOL stays in the bucket for the next round. When the asset is SOL there is no rent.
Each swap and transfer is a public Solana transaction, listed on the coin page and on Payouts.
Bringing a coin
A coin launched on Pump.fun without Basketpad can join if it hasn't used its fee redirect yet. The creator wallet, or the admin set by a community takeover, signs the fee-sharing transaction and picks a basket from Bring a coin.
$BASKET
The 5% $BASKET share of every coin goes into the bucket of $BASKET itself, which is a Basketpad coin with its own basket. Its holders are paid like any other coin's. Until $BASKET is live and registered, that share accumulates. Basketpad charges no launch fee and no trading fee.
What you trust
- Pump.fun for the coin, the curve, the fee split and paying the dev.
- Jupiter for the swap route and price of each round.
- The Basketpad engine, a server-held wallet, to pay rounds as described. It can only be checked after the fact, through its public transactions: it is not a smart contract. The basket is stored by Basketpad, not on-chain.
Nothing here is financial advice. Payouts depend on trading volume and can be small or nothing. See terms and risks.
